Amazon Product Identifiers

ASIN (Amazon Standard Identification Number)

The ASIN is a 10-character alphanumeric identifier that is unique in the whole Amazon product catalog.
An ASIN is automatically assigned by Amazon when a listing for a new product is created.
Variations of the same product still have a unique ASIN for each variation.

SKU (Stock Keeping Unit)

It’s the unique identifier of a product within your seller central.
You can use whatever naming convention you want here.

FNSKU (Fulfillment Network Stock Keeping Unit)

The FNSKU is the alphanumeric number that is used by Amazon to identify a specific product/variation within your seller central.
You might be requested to label your products using the FNSKU when you send inventory to the FBA warehouse.

EAN (European Article Number)
UPC (Universal Product Code)
ISBN (International Standard Book Number)

These are unique identifiers of a product in the whole world. They are not Amazon specific and are usually printed as barcodes on the product box. Each product on Amazon, unless you’ve been given an exemption, requires one of
these identifiers.
